The BMW Dallas Marathon, orginally known as the Dallas White Rock Marathon was first run in 1971. A time from the Dallas Marathon can be used towards the qualifying for the Boston Marathon. There is also a Dallas Half Marathon and Behringer relay marathon.



Dallas Marathon Route
The course varies from hilly to flat taking runners through downtown Dallas and the area surrounding area of White Rock Lake.

The race starts and finishes in Downtown Dallas. It takes in many of the best highlights of the city. Along the way, runners go around the West Dallas Loop, over the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, through Dallas's Design District, and along the majestic Turtle Creek. From there the route continues through the impressive Highland Park, around White Rock Lake, through beautiful Lakewood and down the Swiss Avenue historical district on the way back to the finish line in Downtown.
