November 30, 2024

Start Time : 8:00 a.m.
Number of Places : TBD

Previously the Mississippi Coast Marathon, the Stennis Space Center Marathon is a no-frills, but highly rated marathon. There is also a half marathon and a 5k race on the same day.

Stennis Space Center Marathon Route
The race is laid back and low key, and takes place in the grounds of the Stennis Space Center. It is flat and fast double loop run on paved roads and through scenic wooded areas. Becuase there are few runners there is a good chance for obtaining a PB.

Runners start at the Cypress House, on Lower Gainesville Road. From there, they are directed along winding paved streets including Road H, Trent Lott Parkway and Old Highway 43 for the first few miles before turning onto Balch Boulevard and Saturn Drive and heading towards the northern edge of the space center grounds. After rejoining Trent Lott Parkway, runners turn onto Leonard Kimble Road before reaching the turnaround point, between miles 7 and 8.

After the turnaround point the route heads up to Andrew Jackson Road and Mosses Creek Road before reaching Lott Parkway once again. There runners turn left and head down the street for the next few miles. Both half and the full marathons runners stay together until this point, splitting off from each other when they come to the intersection of Endeavour Boulevard and Road H. Those running the full marathon turn left and continue on along Road H for a second loop around the course before heading along Endeavor to the finish line at Cypress House.
