The Queen Bee Montana Marathon is a very scenic race with friendly crowds. Other races on the same day are a half marathon, 10K and 5K race.

Montana Marathon Route
The race is reputed, by some, to be all downhill. Unfortunately the race isn't quite that easy, with some tough uphill sections.

The course starts in Molt, west of Billings. It leads out along Molt Road east, with a short diversion out and back on Buffalo Trail, then across the prairie with some inspiring early morning views. After a steady climb for the first 10 miles the race heads downhill. This decline, known as the "hogsback" is particularly steep, falling 700 feet in the 3 miles to the halfway point.

The course route takes runners through the slightly-hilly residential areas including of the Yellowstone Country Club. It then hooks up with part of the Heritage Trail System where it follows the tunnel under Shiloh Road. Next, runners turn north for a few blocks, then west along Poly Drive before reaching Parkhill Drive, Pioneer Park and the finish line at Daylis Stadium.
