The Wyoming Marathon is held on Memorial Day weekend. Other races taking place alongside this event are the Rocky Mountain 50k, a half marathon and 5K run / walk.

Wyoming Marathon Route
The Wyoming Marathon route is especially hilly, being located in the mountains between Laramie and Cheyenne. The track is mainly dirt/gravel roads, with about a 6 miles section alongside the I-80. There are three challenging hills to contend with, and almost no flat stretches to the course.

Starting at 8,700 feet, the route drops to 8,000 by 4-5 miles, after which you ascend almost the same height at the 7 mile point before descending to 8,000. Runners then turn around and head back toward the start/finish.
